Happy Street

Backblipping a few days, see yesterdays entry.
This must be the most wonderful little street in Holland. It's in a village in the middle of nowhere (as far as there is any nowhere in an overpopulated tiny country). It borders the river Zaan and has beautiful large old chocolate factories and store houses in art deco style along the river. I was born near there but don't remember much about it :-)
Today I went there for the purpose of finding a pair of flared or boot-cut jeans in the factory shop there but even they only had the narrow leg ones. Even when skinny one doesn't want to be forced to only buy one type of trousers. So only my temper flared but not long as the sluice path as this lane is called, had narrow brick houses with a front garden each, bordering the canal, every single one an amazing and unique design. Tree huts, Madonna shrines, bicycles filled with plants, tropical plants, and this hen house built in the style of the local green wooden houses.
