Hideous Kinky

I've abandoned my Log Cabin patchwork as being too maths-ey and have moved on to perfect, beautiful, simple hexagons.

Betsy and I are reading Hideous Kinky. Betsy is used to child-centric modern parenting - for herself as well as all her friends - and is appalled at the selfish behaviour of the mother, going to find herself in Marrakesh and becoming a Sufi. I have a sneaking admiration but even I couldn't defend her when she gave her daughters - aged five and eight - majoun!
