Enjoying the view

After an earlish start we set off to climb Ben Macdui and then make our way over to also bag Cairn Gorm. My week in Macedonia had done me no favours and I was the slow coach of the five. We made our way up and through the clouds and over the baron landscape to reach the top of Ben Macdui. It is the 2nd highest Mountain in the UK at 4,295 ft and a great place to have lunch huddled behind a shelter to get out of the strong wind. We then made our way down in worsening conditions and were glad of the numerous cairns built along the path. We then headed East and towards Cairn Gorm and thankfully the weather cleared. A final ascent and we reached the top of Cairn Gorm (4,085 ft) and I captured ES enjoying the view.

We then headed back down and to the car. A visit to the chipper in Aviemore before heading back to Cottage and await the arrival of the rest of the gang.
