Sissy

She ought to be called Podolski (Poldi) or Schweinsteiger (Schweine) two young stars of the German national football team in 2006 during the World Cup in Germany. We had got two kittens born in May, the very week the World Cup started. We both had holiday and with the wonderful weather we sat outside on the terrace, the kittens jumping all over the sun loungers we set up evenings with blankets to watch the games on TV. Angie was unsure about the names and thus out of Poldi & Schweine, we had Sissy and brother Jerry. Both were much too young when they came to us and were in a terrible condition, at one point we thought they were going to die but they both luckily pulled through.

The two are very different in character, Sissy is very independent, never comes freely to sit on one's lap but delights in a short stroke and scratch when she comes in to eat. This evening she joined me and the dogs playing frisbee on the horse field but unlike the other 3 cats who like to join in, she usually sits on a post and observes. She's a very "ordinary" European House Cat but in her own way a very uncomplicated member of the band.
