At the front of the crowd to see the Mona Lisa

We were at the Louve today and a bit surprised to see how crazy it is to see the Monna Lisa. Absolute chaos. A mob scene. The photo is taken as I start to work my way off the front of the crowd and virtually the closest to Da Vinci's most famous painting.

The front is still about 6 from away from the painting, which is encased Im sure in atomic bomb-proof glass. So, why bother going (unless you like to get grooped)? You cant really see it anyway.

We were there in 1999 and while it was behind thick glass, at least you could get up close to it.
