City Centre
And "Rathaus" is the German for "Town Hall". The old Rathaus has been turned in to the Registry Office upstairs and a wine bar downstairs. Coincidentally, the New Rathaus has a restaurant & bar downstairs too. Maybe they all do and I just haven't noticed.
However, I did notice a few odd things today.
Number 1 was a guy dressed in a very old-fashioned Chimney Sweep's outfit complete with tall hat and that circular brush thing. That was at early o' clock so I suspect he was on his way to work. Tell you what though, the hat didn't half remind of the Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang*.
Number 2 was a bloke on a motorcycle. Without a helmet. And as I watched him careering down the Dotzheimer Strasse (using his feet to stop the bike from falling), I was half expecting him to be followed by a few police cars. He slalomed off into a Hinterhof (a courtyard behind a block of flats) and was comically peeking out as I left on my bus.
Got to work and discovered that my meeting with my German teacher has been postponed as she's laid up with the cold. So, I'll just practise on my own then.
