Stroll along the lakeside

The sun shone on the campsite with blue sky above and yet 3 miles down the road it was overcast. However, it didn't prevent us having a stroll along the shore of Ennerdale Water. Unfortunately, we are not as nimble as we used to be and found the clambering up and over the rocks half way along a bit too risky for old knees. We were rather pleased that we had decided to walk anticlockwise or we could have faced a very long walk back to the car if we had gone the other way round (which is a much easier walk until the "bit difficult" part is reached). I know, Gilcrux will not be pleased with us! However, we thoroughly enjoyed the little bit we did do and the scenery is no less beautiful than we remembered. Back at the 'van we snoozed in the sun and began to pack up for tomorrow's move south.
