Rio beaches

... from Sugarloaf Mountain.

With the unpredictable Rio weather, we had postponed our sightseeing tour from Tuesday to Wednesday and again to today, Thursday. We had begun to think we would not be able to visit either the Christ the Redeemer statue or Sugarloaf mountain because of the low cloud or high winds.

Miraculously, the skies cleared and we managed to visit both this morning, great views to choose from for today's blip. This was my favourite for our last full day in Rio

The beach at the bottom of the picture is where the Portuguese first landed, Praia Vermelha, with Copacabana beyond.
