Sonny's Seat

After a bit of shopping at the Yeovil FC shop for our son's birthday next week, Tess & I took a walk around Ham Hill, through the Witcombe valley (where, I believe, the medieval village was abandoned during the plague) and up to Batemore barn. This is the view from the bench where we stopped for our picnic lunch which, according to the plaque, is Sonny's Seat. Sonny, possibly from beyond the grave, exhorted us to "Rest awhile and enjoy the view" so we took him up on his kind offer.

The village of Montacute and Montacute House are on the right of the folly of St Michael's Tower. built in 1760 by Edward Phelips V owner of Montacute House.

Today's Borneo backblip shows a selection of exotic fauna seen on our boat safaris.
