Monsal Head

What a day, beautiful late September sun.

Started with my regular Sat morning golf, today was a medal and going well until I took an 8 on the 16th , doh !

then an afternoon walk in one of our fav Derbyshire spots Monsal Dale.

The evening blip is from the classic spot at Monsal Head from here you see a magnificent view down Monsal Dale and up the Wye valley. The view is spectacular, with the river far below, winding through a steep-sided valley.

The viaduct is the route of the former Midland Railway and it disappears into a tunnel which goes right beneath Monsal Head. The tunnel was recently reopened, it is now a very popular cycle track.

Finished the day with a nice pub meal in Ashford on Water.

the image is my first attempt at merging 3 separate exposures, its probably not perfect but I like it enough to probably practise again another day
