Sacramento canon

Looking down the mouth of the canon catching the last rays of the sun, one can reflect on the plight of the survivors of the Sacramento galleon that was wrecked off this coast in 1647. About 72 survivors walked 1400kms to a port in Mozambique, only nine survived.
Most of the 60 canons on this ship were salvaged in 1977.
This canon is situated at the beginning of the Sacramento trail , a delightful coastal walk.
