Photo-op

A hectic afternoon and evening.

Walk to DARt station; DART to Pearse Station; walk to Pembroke Street to get a print job done; find two print shops no longer in business (one moved; one closed); use Hacketts nearby instead even though they have a minimum charge policy (5 euro 65 for a single A4 printed both sides); walk to Douglas Hyde Gallery on Nassau Street to meet Carl; Carl running late, so do some blipping around Trinity College and go back to Hodges Figgis to buy book (Vikram Chandra's Red Earth and Pouring Rain having proved a huge disappointment and not worth persevering with past the first 150 of its 600-odd pages); buy one-volume edition of the complete novels of Flann O'Brien; meet Carl and tour Paki Smith's exhibition; eat okay (and very reasonably priced) meal in the George Bistro on South Frederick Street; retire to Davy Byrne's pub for bevvies and chat; get last bus home; fall into bed at midnight.
