Tuna

You have heard of "before-and-after"? Well, this is after! I apologise - I had meant to take a photo of the meal on the plate, but forgot about it until it was all gone! The significance is that it was a piece of the huge Blue-fun Tuna that was rod-caught off St Kilda at the end of last week. One of my colleagues was on a scientific expedition to measure ocean properties, when the tuna were spotted and, eventually, landed. I don't know if this is a first, but it is extremely rare as they are not sought here. The tuna steak was magnificent - pan-grilled in a little olive oil and dill, with Main maple syrup drizzled over it - is it any wonder that there is nothing left?
