Hengistbury & Mudeford

Last day of the brothers-and-wives retreat and so after checking out of thehotel we ventured along the coast to Hengistbury head. After a great walk over the headland we went down onto Mudeford Spit before walking back around the harbour shoreline to the car and a cream tea!

This boat in the harbour caught my eye with it's bright colours and all that steelwork. Also along the shoreline there were lots of small birds. Some are ringed plovers (or possibly little ringed plovers) but so far I've not identified the others (possibly dunlin?). They were all mixed up together and when they flew they went as one group rather than breaking up into their own types.

So rather than having to choose I have put a small strip from the shoreline picture onto the boat picture and that is my blip for the day.

Seeing how these birds fly as one group rather than forming their own 'cliques' made me think about how we in our various groups of people mix and work together, or in some cases don't!
