Lurid landscape

I spent ages mucking about with this photo trying to get it to reflect what I saw, and this was the best I could do. I was hoping the light would improve at around seven so I could have another go, but it clouded over instead. So here you have it -- a lurid landscape. It includes all the elements that define the spirit of this place: Alaric, cypresses, almond trees, umbrella pines, garrigue, and of course, vines. Some of them are just starting to change colour, although the harvest isn't over yet.
