Apples

Our darling dachshund, Sally (who has starred in so many of my journal entries) suddenly developed swellings in her neck yesterday. This morning, they were noticeably bigger. Alarmed, we called the vet and asked to bring her in for an exam. We had pulled a tick off her late last week, and were worried this new symptom might be Lyme Disease.

The vet checked Sally out, and then gravely proceeded to inform us that he is 99% sure she has Lymphoma. The carpet got jerked out from under our feet so fast. I would give anything for this to be just Lyme Disease. The prognosis isn't good. We are utterly, utterly devastated.

On the way to the vet, we stopped at our local farmstand in order to photograph some apples. Forgive me if I am not very enthusiastic about them. They are just apples.
