Greenfinches

Before the rain began we called in at the Wirral Country Park in Eastham where there is a wonderful exhibiton of "nature in the local woodland" and a room with a window to view the wildlife in the garden. In the small garden there are several very large bird feeders attracting many different species. It also attracts grey squirrels and many different insects and butterflies. The bird feeders are very quiet at the moment probably because there is such a feast of food in the woodland at present.
The country park in Eastham is at the point where the Manchester Ship Canal joins the Mersey and opposite Liverpool's John Lennon Airport so we had quite a choice of blips - boats & planes and water, but the birds won again even though they were taken through glass. They seemed to be wondering "What's that noise over there?"
