Grizedale

We spent today in soggy south Lakes. Tony had to do some re-mapping for an orienteering weekend coming up and originally we were then planning on a bike ride through Grizedale Forest. The weather put paid to that but after a pleasant lunch at the new café in the new visitor centre, we took to one of the trails to go sculpture spotting and burn off the chicken, ham and stuffing pie! Grizedale has been a favourite family place for many years and the girls particularly loved the sculptures. Their favourite was the Sandstone Fox so we had to call by to see him. Sadly he has lost his red sandstone colour over the years, but he still has his cheeky grin (as does Tony!). If you would like to see some more of the sculptures, look here!. We didn't have a guide so I am not sure what my sculpture blip is meant to be. From the track it looked to me like an exotic fish, but closer to the wavy bits seem to resemble leaves. It certainly looks like some sort of creature, what do you think?
