Bluebird

Actually a black-headed gull in winter plumage.

The weather really hasn't been very cooperative the last few days with most photographs turning out flat and grey - just as this one did.

Fortunately, that marvellous free program 'GIMP' is able to pluck hidden colour from the most drab of scenes.. Today it found blues and magenta.

Aesthetically, the bird should be facing the other way and moving into the picture. I'm nor sure if it didn't understand my direction or if it was just being obstinate. I did think of calling GIMP to the rescue but there is a flow of water arounf the gull's feet from right to left. It would look odd if that were reversed mid-stream so I left it as it was.
