Three Lions of Fav

Hobson's Choice for today's blip: I only took the one photo!

Faversham's three lions coat of arms goes back to Edward I's reign at the end of the 13th century. The latin motto is "Regis ut arma rego libera portus ego", "Since I bear arms for the King without charge, I am a free port".

I get a kick out of it being the same three lions as the England footy team badge. Faversham Town FC who play in the Ryman League also wear the three lions on their team shirts.

Seen here, the crest is adorning a street bollard.
