University Church of Cambridge.

The Church of St Mary the Great, as seen from the Market square. A Grade 1 listed building, it is the University Church of Cambridge and as such it has a minor role in the legislation. University officers must live within 20 miles of the church and undergraduates within 3 miles. This building was constructed between 1478 and 1519, and the tower being finished in 1608. Restoration work has been carried out up until the 20th century. A market has been operating here since Saxon times.
