Brussels, 'Grand Place'

A very early start for a day in Brussels, but I had enough time before my flight home for a wee bit of sightseeing, including the 'Grand Place'. It's hard to get a decent view of the 'Place' as a whole, so I've concentrated on the magnificently gilded 'Maison des Brasseurs' (Brewer's Guildhall), whose equestrian summit is glowing in the last of the day's sunshine.

Anyone familiar with Belgian beer will understand why brewers were so wealthy. The horse though, is harder to explain.
