It's a Journey....

Sweet Ride!

These cars are built and driven by our high school's Supermileage Team. Supermileage Challenge is an event where high school students try to build the most fuel-efficient vehicle possible. Last year the team placed 2nd in the Minnesota state-wide competition with an average of 527 miles per gallon over 17 runs. Their best run was 714 miles per gallon. I think I heard that they go 15 miles per hour max.
This was part of the Homecoming Parade in Watertown today. I haven't been to this parade in over 10 years. It was fun to go down and see all the kids dressed in their school colors. It was all very festive. I like the way the two younger boys are checking out the cars. The big boys have candy to throw from their buckets, which of course adds to the fun.
