Mallard Mania

Today we revisited Dawson Creek Trail in Hillsboro, as the weather was warm and beautiful and we wanted to explore more. We found the hawks that eluded us the other day, and a brand new trail by another huge lake. Even though these are man made lakes, the creek winds it way through them, and creates a beautiful habitat for the ducks and birds. There were many wood ducks, mallards, and grebe or two, and of course the fascinating acorn woodpeckers.

But the mallards won out today with their displays of circular motion in the water, going round and round as they preened themselves. The light was magical...seriously the best I've had for so long. I was may I say, in heaven:)) The detail on the ducks was amazing, and the light in the water was so reflective. The shadows were distinct....a photographers day of joy:))
Yes, as always I took too many photos, but you don't get days like this very often!
