Red-rumped Swallow

Red-rumped Swallows (Cecropis daurica) were around our hotel in Tavira, Portugal, and this one perched close by near a nest (presumably from earlier this year). I had to move to get the a good view of the rump but the bird cooperated (they don't always!).

After a walk around our hotel we drove west along the coast to Sagres, where we'll spend the final three days of our tour. (On the map I've simply marked the city of Tavira as the location for this shot--I didn't try to find our street.)
