Great Tree

This is obviously a tree of great age. Looking, at the striated leaves I decided it's a hornbeam. We dropped off our granddaughter's birthday present and then lunched at Ightham Mote and walked round the gardens and I chose this tree for my blip.
The granddaughter is having a sleepover. Oh happy days - so glad to be making my exit!
