Sculpture of decay

What amazing structures nature can produce. Is this some sort of exotic insect chrysalis? No ... just a rotting Hosta leaf. We tend to stop looking carefully at the garden borders once the flowers have ended, but there's plenty of interest and beauty to be found in the decay phase of the plants.
