Salmon leap at Black Linn Falls

I had one of those perfect days today. A day in Big Tree Country (Perthshire).

The Hermitage is one of my favourite places and Mr G and I went there this afternoon.

It really is the one of the best places in Scotland and the best time to visit is in the Autumn. So apart from the lovely sunlight trees and woodland walk, the delicious smell of damp pine needles and late flowers, the Black Linn Falls are just so beautiful.

If that wasn't enough, the Salmon were leaping up the waterfall. What a powerful, humbling sight it is. If every I feel like giving up, I'll think about today and the perseverance of the salmon.
