Pastel palette

We returned from our short trip to Lancashire yesterday evening. The work was carried out in dry weather, we had time to visit some superb wildlife sites including the Forest of Bowland, Arnside Knott and Gait Barrows and we ate like kings. But my dreams of a west coast sunset were dashed by more or less continuously grey skies interspersed with periods of torrential rain.

After a day spent catching up with washing, processing photographs and identifying specimens, I took Rosie for a dusk walk at Ferry Meadows. This time the sunset didn't disappoint and I was treated to a symphony of pastel hues. Maybe not quite as stunning as an Arnside sunset, but beautiful nevertheless.
