Pulling strings

This blip is prompted by a visit last weekend to the old and now shut down Leith Town Hall, as part of the doors open day; and a conversation with Dominie about him and my father both working years ago in the newspaper industry in Edinburgh.

The photo was published in the Edinburgh Evening News in 1966, when the Madame Ada School of Dancing had their annual "show". It was held in the Leith Town Hall, and looking at the programme, it must have gone on for hours. All these poor parents just waiting for their own kid's five minutes of fame.

I was a crocus in the world premier of 'A Day in the Life of a Garden'.

And the only reason I'm right in the front of the photo is because my dad worked for the Edinburgh Evening News, and no doubt bought the photographer a beer.

Tune for the day.
