In North Canterbury for a couple of days catching up with friends while supposedly meandering my way home and back to the grindstone (boo, hiss)

It's g's birthday today so I was heading into Kaiapoi to the English Shop for some treats and then for a walk somewhere. I messaged Flying and met up with her in Kaiapoi. We had a short walk there before she took me to one of her favourite spots - Waikuku beach.

What an awesome spot, saw Godwits at close range, closer than i've ever been before. Lots of whitebaiters and then even more exciting - some nesting shags.
Loved this shot because of the beautiful colour and clarity
