The Kelly Cut

We, brother-in-law and I, went for a short stroll along the Kelly cut. This is an aquaduct that used to bring water from Loch Kelly to join the Greenock cut. The system was in use until about 1972 when it was replaced by a pipeline.

The views over the Clyde were fine and the walk ended with a two mile descent by the Kelly Burn and through a vast caravan site in the grounds of the former Kelly Castle.
