Fleet

Today Sam and I went to Manly via the bus and there was this huge jazz festival going on for the holiday weekend or the international fleet festival (which prince Harry was in sydney for and sadly I did not see him...) one or the other. We walked over to Shelly beach so Sam could take a picture where the pit stop for one of the seasons of the amazing race was. Then we had another surf lesson, but the waves were suckish so it wasn't that much fun..but it was a nice day. After that we tried to lay out a bit but it was cooling off and we decided to try and beat the crowd to the city for the fireworks they were putting on in the harbor for the international fleet festival. We were told they were going to be better than New Year's.

When we got to Sydney it was packeddddddd and we still had a few hours before the fireworks so we met up with the Nicole and Rachel and walked around a bit. Then when we tried to go back to circular Quay but it was closed because it was so crowded and one of the security guards told us that they weren't expecting to have to close it off but it got too crowded We did manage to get into the rocks and after a failed attempt at trying to sneak up to the YHA roof we weaseled our way into the crowd on the Harborside to get a good view of the fire works. They were going off all around: off the Sydney Harbour Bridge, over the Opera House, in the harbor, off of buildings it was so cool. They were also projecting this story and these pictures on the opera house which was awesome, but I couldn't really see it that much, luckily though I got this picture. It was a really long day but I had so much fun.
