new blades

The Charente's first wind farm, situated around 2km off the N10 at Salles de Villefagnan, has been having some repairs this week. I had a bit of time to spare between hair appointments and physio, and this was one the way to physio, so popped round to the wind farm to see what was going on. It was a real hive of activity, with them working on 2 turbines of the 9 that were installed in 2008. Maybe it's a 5 year (or 60 000 rotations ?) service! Here you see the delivered blade ready to be hauled into place on one of the turbines. Question; how many people does it take to change a blade on a turbine? lol
It's been a busy day. Bonne soirée!
4th day without crutches!
