Mary, Queen of Scots

Another week in Parliament, another exhibition! This time it is the Scottish council on Archives, which may sound boring but really, it is fascinating. As well as documentary and pictorial archives, there are objects. I tried to get a decent capture of a Haig fund silk poppy from the 1920s but it was in a glass case and there was too much reflection. In the same case there was a document from 1567 signed by Mary, Queen of Scots. Apparently, this is the earliest signature we have of hers. This time, the ink was so faint that it just didn't photograph well from the distance I'd have had to take it. Instead, this is an image of Mary by Edinburgh Printmakers and Patrizio Belcampo. Helpfully, they will be displaying different things over the next few days so I may well go back for more blip opportunities!!
