long journey

One of the longest train journeys in Britain leaves Glasgow at 11am and is due to arrive in Penzance nearly 12 hours later, at 10.42pm. Fortunately for us, we were only on it for three hours 40 minutes, arriving in York just in time to make the 2.40pm connection to Scarborough, which was running about a minute late. Britain’s longest train journey, incidentally, runs from Aberdeen to Penzance and takes 13 and a half hours. The longest one in the world is from Moscow to Pyongyang in North Korea (6,360 miles). It takes 210 hours and 20 minutes.
