Apple Harvest

The trees in our backyard have been providing a wonderful harvest of crisp, sweet apples. I need to get more creative with recipes.

Of course I've made apple pie and apple pancakes. Those get boring. So tonight's dinner was apple, bacon, and scallion Flammkuchen. It added a nice savory twist to the apples - or a sweet twist to the dish, depending on your perspective :)

After dinner, it was lice inspections for the boys, as a notice was sent home from school with the youngest that the pests are rampant in his class. Guess who got his head freshly shaved?
