Day 6: Mixed Bag

6 October

Started the day late giving girls time to recover after their flight.

First stop was the stratosphere tower. The views from the tower is breathtaking! You can see why this hotel/tower is located at the end of the strip allowing 360 degrees sweeping views of the entire valley and surrounding hills.

The girls were crazy enough to do the claw (scream) ride while I watched them scream. It was good fun.

Next stop we took the taxi down to the famous Las Vegas Welcome sign.
This spot is littered with tourists (note this was during the day when the sign looks sub-standard). There are people who make you cue up so you can get a photo in front of it but some people use side-entrances and just take a photo and disappear. That's exactly what I did.

Then we walked from the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard and started checking out the hotels along the way. One of the most striking hotels is the Luxor. It is an engineering feat and is worth a visit when you are in Vegas.

Next we visited the New York New York hotel. The main reason we visited here was to go on their roller-coaster. Don't be fooled by its look, this ride was much taller than I anticipated and much faster. We couldn't recollect much except we had some very sore ears as our heads kept banging against the safety head rest as we twisted and turned on this ride.

After the ride, we took time to recover at the Rainforest Cafe at MGM Grand. This is no ordinary cafe, the animals here come to life every 30 minutes. After few cocktails and some nibbles later we were ready to continue.

M&M world was next on the way. With 4 floors of M&M related merchandise, it's like a dream come true. It has this really sweet smell though which can become exphixiating .
Note we only managed to see a quarter of the casinos and it took us about 4 hours.

After eating some candy, we purchased tickets to "Mystere : Cirque De Soleil". It was simply stunning. A must if you get to Vegas! Then it was some more cocktails time before having a decent burger at Stripburger.

Rest of the hotels will be explored later.
