Marshmallow

The flower must be Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis). The original Marsh Mallow from which the sweets derive their name. - It could be Malva neglete, too.

It grows in the allotment site. Plots ( one ar.) are rented out by the city of Espoo 28 euro per year. Allotment gardening is a wonderful leisure activity for city people. But they should hurry to harvest as it´s raining now.

Greek word "altho" means "to cure". Herbalists use the marshmallow for asthma, bronchitis, common cold with sore throat, cough, weight loss and wound healing.
