Harbour reflections

Getting ready to batten down the hatches in anticipation of this evening's forecast. A quick trip through to Stromness to pay bills and get messages. Spotted this reflection opportunity. Maybe I shouldn't have taken the opportunity ?

At home went into the poly tunnel and lifted some carrots and an amazing amount of bright yellow courgettes that had grown in our absence. No sign of Desmond (large knobbly, dark brown toad) or Duncan (bright yellow/green leaping frog). Gathered some herbs too. Lifted a few tatties from outside. Took everything inside for CMC to create her magic. Surprised her also with a very large marrow I'd found underneath a coil of courgettes. No Max Miller references intended.

Sent outside again to chop kindling for fire and take in two buckets of coal. We are about to light the stove in the kitchen - good later for making toast. CMC made some delicious buns. Baz has resumed his autumnal activities by sleeping (and purring heavily) in the airing cupboard. Ferries cancelled to Hoy so CMC is postponing her visit to her mother.
