A bright future?

I attended the last meeting of the Board of Banff & Buchan FE College today, the end of an era. The college will merge with Aberdeen College on 1 November to become the new North East Scotland College. There were mixed feelings today, from the outgoing Board members, the staff and the students. Feelings of sadness mingled with excitement about the future, of losing the personal touch and the student centred ethos of this wee college in Fraserburgh which punches way above its weight in supplying the skills needed by the oil and gas and the maritime industries. My involvement will continue, as I will be a member of the new college board. I'm looking forward to influencing the direction of the new college, to shaping the future.
