Autumn eye

Fall, soon winter. Next spring brings a few more lines on the forehead. Some more friends, even more acquaintances. We learn more and more how to speak politely and how to behave as adults.

I wonder, who is the idiot that decided children should become adults. Of course we grow up and our bodies change, that is pure biology. But why learn etiquettes, why be, as we call it, civilized?

In my work with autistic handicapped I have learned that the basic communication is crucial. My clients do not understand small hints or know how "they should behave". They live their own unique life and we have our own common language only when we, us "civilized people", go back to the starting point and forget the learned manners and etiquette rules.

I wonder why we should not in normal life forget the bullshit also. Why can't we talk to each other like talking to small children? Why make it so complicated?

I have this superior where I work, and she is the best. Not because she is good in what she does, not because she is beautiful or rich: but because she dares to laugh when she wants, she dares to ask stupid questions when she is truly curious, she is not afraid of laughing at her self.. And she speaks to people equally, so that everybody can understand what she means: clearly, nicely, enthusiastically and nurturingly.
