Let the sunshine,let the sunshine

What a fabulous day to be on Skye. The sun rose at about 8 and stayed shining all day.
Started with a bacon roll and a cuppa down by the harbour watching and listening to the oyster catchers. There were two fishing boats on the water and lots of creels lined up along the harbour wall.
We went for a walk past an old Bothy and up over the hills. Still plenty of flowers out including wild scabious, marsh marigold and sphagnum moss. There were lovely clear views back to Broadford and we watched a seal swim past.
After a coffee and some coffee and walnut cake to keep our strength up we carried on our journey to Elgol.
A few more stops and a few more walks on the way. We watched a dipper for about 15 minutes as it hopped from rock to rock and dipped under the water. One eagle soared high above the mountain range.A number of photos taken in the process and then the magnificent view of the Cuillin ridge came into sight as we came down the windy road to Elgol.
On a day like this you just have to be on the water so we took a trip on the Bella Jane right into the mountains with great views of the surrounding islands and wildlife including plenty of common seals, red deer, shags, guillemots and a gannet.
We ended the day with fish and chips :)))
