Anatole's blips

Jiminy on a leaf

Well, Jemima really...

The astounding thing about this cricket are its antennae. They are about twice as long as its body length (including ovipositor).

I believe that it may be a Southern Oak Bush Cricket (Meconema meridionale).

I looked it up on Wipedia and it reports that they have only been found in the UK since 2001. Also that it is a predator and lives mainly on the Horse-chestnut leaf miner (Cameraria ohridella). We have seen them before here in SW London, although I'm not sure when I saw the first one.
