Temper temper!

As one of the lucky ones who have an apartment, we were taken to the shops today to grab all the stuff we might need to make our new home feel a little more like home. We are still being well looked after by the school who are very eager to make sure we are comfortable and happy and to take away as much stress as possible by providing transport and helpful volunteers at all times.

Prior to going to the main mall, we were warned that the Egyptians 'shop like they drive'. We of course are well used to shopping around amongst the locals and so made straight for the SIM card people and then to Carrefour for an ironing-board, a dryer and other such dull nonsense (which were a lot more expensive than we thought they'd be).

Pictured above is my first witnessing of the famous Egyptian temperament. The guy on the right here, after seeing that our bus had blocked him in, went totally berserk at our driver. There was a flurry of waved fists and eardrum penetrating language followed by a couple of slaps on the back and smiles only 30 seconds later. Bizarre, but highly amusing!
