In and Out of the Garden

This little area saw some new gardening today. I removed all ( I think) of the red fingerling potatoes, planted a red cardinal flowers then, after clearing out the chickadee nest box a single chick apparently failed to fledge. Just the wee feathered shell remains on the soft nest "rug" that the parents wove using animal fur and mosses.
So, the bird returned to the earth and the potatoes went into the Sunday roast chicken and vegetable dinner.
It's all about Life and Death and Life again, isn't it?
