Nature's abundance

No, not home grown! I've had a vegetable box delivered from a local company for many years. I just love the surprise every week when it arrives. That first keek in to see what delights Jane and Karen have sourced this week. Almost all the veg are grown locally, and many are organic. They come in all shapes and sizes, often with the good Aberdeenshire earth they grew in still attached. Many have been picked only a few hours earlier so are really fresh and oh-so-tasty. This week's box was no exception with another first, that amazing lime-y green variety of cauliflower, it's enormous size clear evidence of the good weather we've had this year. I'll need to give some thought as to how I will cook it later in the week! We've had a super weekend topped off today with our first family Sunday roast dinner together since the wedding in June. Shift patterns and our weekends away have contrived against us, so it was good to make the most of this Sunday when we were all at home. That's why there's only half a neep and no tatties left in this week's box!
