OOPS

Yesterday was a extremely wet day, torrential rain, wind, thunder, lightning, hailstones etc. When I went to get the children from the school bus I noticed that the river had rapidly risen during the afternoon and thought it would not be long before it was up over the road.

The road crew Fulton Hogan had last week decided to regravel parts of the road, they did a stretch about 2.5 km in from the bridge, but yesterday put two loads on the piece about 400 metres in from the bridge which is the first part of the road that gets flooded.

Oh dear, that gravel only lasted about six hours on the road and parts got washed away again, this is only one piece of it, there was about four bad pieces in this section but this photo showed up the best of them all.
