Infrequent blips!

Hovering...

Had a fabulous afternoon on Portland looking at all kinds of bizarre fossils, quarries and assorted rock stuff. It is quite remarkable island - not least that you are not allowed to say the word "rabbits" - with huge great holes in the ground all over the place. If you have ever seen St Paul's cathedral, then you have seen a good chunk of Portland.

Anyhow, lots of photos - sea, sky, walls, even, unusually for me, birds, and in fact after sifting through about 100 shots, I went for this beautify Kestrel who had just spotted something to pounce on. It is not quite in focus and this is a close crop, but I wasn't expecting to see it and really only caught it by chance. It is an unusual angle and makes the bird look almost vulnerable, yet so impressive at the same time.
