Ashford Mill 1850

This is a bit of a desperate blip as the weather has been appalling and I still have loads of paperwork to catch up with.

This is our watermill, taken in about 1850. It dates back to the Domesday book. The watermill is totally intact. We bought the entire estate about 5 years ago with a view to bringing it back to its former glory. The final piece in the jigsaw is the watermill. It is the jewel!

In a few weeks time, the planning application goes into the Peak Park Authority to restore it. We wouldn't have needed any permission until they visited earlier in the year and declared it abandoned, which it clearly isn't as it is used for storage and runs our hydropower scheme.

Blipgods have been really good to me, so I'm hoping they will assist in getting our restoration and conservation through the planning process.

The mill today is almost identical to this shot, minus the horse and cart unfortunately!!!
